A quite outstanding early 18th Century Oak Dresser Base. Having visited my workshop for some ‘cosmetic surgery’ this Dresser base will provide many years of service – A sturdy frame with Drawers which open easily, it has been polished to perfection, treated for bugs and maintains the original Patina.
Parts of the drawer boxes are made from carved panels probably from an earlier Coffer. This helps to date and confirm the originality of the piece. The top has tightly joined boards. There is a gentle downward curve to the centre of the front frame adding to the character. Three large drawers provide usable storage, varying around 17″ wide and long x 7″ deep – they are not exactly the same size!
The patina is to be desired – not too dark with plenty of age related detail. This Dresser is sitting in my home as it is so attractive. Very few items come home. Dimensions: 66″ long x 20.5″ deep x 32″ high.
